Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out

[Bearbeiten]

[C]Once I lived the [E7]life of a [Am]million-[A7]aire
[Dm]Spend my [A7]money, I didn't [Dm]have a [G7]care
[F]Takin' my [F#m7b5]friends out for a [C]migh-[/B]ty fine [Am]time [A7]
buying [D]bootleg hard [7]liquor, cham-[G]pagne and [7]wine

When [C]I be-[E7]gin to [Am]fall so [A7]low,
[Dm]I didn't [A7]have a friend and [Dm7]no place to [G7]go
So [F]if I ever [F#m7b5]get my hand on a [C]dollar [/B]a-[Am]gain, [A7]
[D]I'm gonna [7]hold on to it 'til them [G]eagles [7]grin

[C] No-[E7]body [Am] knows [A7] you
[Dm] When you're [A7] down and [Dm] out
[F] In your [F#dim] pocket, [C] not one [A7] penny
[D7] And as for friends, well, you [G7] ain't got any

But as [C] soon as you get [E7] back on your [A] feet a-[A7]gain
[Dm] Everybody [A7] wants to be your [Dm] long lost friend
[F] It's might [F#dim] strange, with-[C]out any [A7] doubt
[D7] Nobody Knows You
[F] Nobody Knows You
[Dm] Nobody knows [G7] you when you're down and [C] out
