Theoriegeschichtlicher Kontext[Bearbeiten]

"I have been greatly influence by my Ph.D. adviser, Prof. Harrison White (currently of Columbia University). In my view, he has the most original and sophisticated view of social theory of any living sociologist."(Granovetter, 2007)

Das Werk in Themen und Thesen[Bearbeiten]

The strength of weak ties[Bearbeiten]

"The strength of weak ties" ist Granovetters bekanntestes Werk.

" The strength of weak ties" und "Getting a job" zählen zu den erfolgreichsten zeitgenössischen Schriften.
