Die Mississippi Sheiks gelten als eine der populärsten und einflussreichsten Country-Bues-Bands der 30er Jahre. Ihr größter Erfolg war "Sitting On Top Of The World". Sie spielten hauptsächlich akustischen Instrumenten wie Gitarre und Fiddle. Das Lied  It Hurts Me Too fußt auf "Things 'bout Coming' My Way".
